Koala Mattresses only use foam that has been CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning it has been tested to meet CertiPUR-US®'s rigorous standards for emissions, content, performance, and durability. The foam in our mattresses is made without harmful phthalates, and they are made without the use of ozone-depleting substances, including methylene chloride and other CFCs. Koala Mattress foam has also been tested to have low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).

Choosing the right mattress is only part of the equation. Your bed frame matters too. As long as your old mattress base provides adequate support and ventilation, it will work with any Koala Mattress, including our memory foam mattresses. If you're using a slat base on your old mattress setup, keep the slats no more than 7.5cm apart to ensure proper mattress support.

While posture slats can be used, they may make the mattress feel softer than intended. For the best comfort, especially if you prefer extra firm support, we recommend straight (flat) slats.

We don’t suggest placing your mattress directly on the floor without ventilation, as this can cause moisture build-up. Similarly, adjustable beds aren't ideal, as bending or folding the mattress may damage the core or supportive layers.
