Care

Fixed Frame, Arm & Lining Cushion Covers
Do not remove lining covers for separate cleaning even though they may have zippers.
Spot clean only with warm water & mild detergent mix.
Do not scrub with a stiff brush.
Use a clean cloth to blot out excess liquid.
Do not wet filling.
Allow to thoroughly dry before re-use.
Do not bleach. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.
Ensure removable covers are completely dry before fitting covers back on.

Removable Cover Care
Vacuum on low suction to remove dust and grit. Follow washing instructions on the care label for further cleaning.
Give your cushions some love by regularly rotating them, changing their positions and plumping them up. This keeps them looking full and prevents favourite spot wear and tear.
Smooth & straighten covers: take a moment to align hems, smooth out wrinkles, and adjust covers to keep the silhouette sharp.
Position your sofa away from direct sunlight to prevent fabric fading over time.

For spills & accidents
Act fast: blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.
No scrubbing: avoid using stiff brushes or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the fabric fibres.

Keep furniture a safe distance away from open flames and strong sources of heat (e.g. heaters, fireplaces, radiators, wall or floor vents). If left too close this may create a fire hazard or damage furniture, including internal frames and other components.
Do not modify or change any components within this product without specific advice from Koala. This will void your warranty and may cause instability, damage or collapsing of the frame, resulting in injury.

Do not drag this furniture. Always lift the furniture from the base when moving. Dragging can break the legs or damage the frame integrity. Use two or more people to move this item to avoid injury.
Pilling can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered a fault. Please check the care labels on your sofa bed to see if a battery-operated pilling tool is suitable for the removal of fibre pills.

FAQs about the Paddo Sofa Bed

How do I keep my sofa bed looking fresh?

Keeping your sofa bed in top shape comes down to a simple weekly routine and a few smart care habits.

  • To keep the cushions looking plump and fresh, cushions should be given a good fluff or plump at least weekly
  • Rotate cushions regularly so fabric and fill wear evenly (or switch up where you sit often!)
  • Vacuum the sofa bed on low suction with a soft brush attachment at least weekly to lift dust and dirt from the sofa and to help keep the fabric looking fresh and remove foreign fibres

Beyond your weekly routine, a couple of quick precautions will protect your sofa for the long haul. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight whenever possible, as harsh UV rays can fade rich fabric colours and weaken the fibres prematurely over time. Finally, whenever you wash removable covers or spot-clean a spill, always make sure the fabric is completely dry before fitting it back onto the cushions or frame. Fitting damp covers back on can trap moisture, which can lead to unwanted mildew, stubborn odours, and water marks.

What's the best way to plump up the cushions?

Giving your cushions a fluff is a quick and easy way to keep your sofa bed and space looking tidy. Here’s the easiest way to bring them back to life:

  • The Side-Squeeze: Grab opposite sides of the cushion and press them together firmly, repeating on all four sides to redistribute the fill in the insert.
  • The Drop & Chop: Drop the cushion flat onto a soft surface (like the seat or a carpeted floor), then give it a series of gentle chops with the side of your hand along the top edge and sides. This motion helps to break up compacted fill and redistribute it.
  • Smooth the Cover: Once plumped and chopped, gently smooth out the fabric cover from the centre to the seams so it sits crisp and square.

We all have a “favourite spot” on the couch, but sitting in one place constantly can cause uneven spots over time. To keep things wearing evenly across the whole sofa bed, simply swap and rotate your cushions between different positions once a week during your routine tidy-up.

Fluffing your cushions isn’t just for looks, it should make up part of the regular care of your sofa bed! To keep filling sitting comfortably and looking fresh, give your cushions a good plump at least once a week (or a bit more often if the couch gets a heavy workout).

Are the Paddo Sofa Bed covers removable?

We have designed the Paddo Sofa Bed with ease of care in mind. All the covers are removable. Each cover has detailed care instructions. Please follow and read instructions that are located on your covers.

What is the weight capacity of the Paddo Sofa Bed?

Our sofa bed is designed to comfortably accommodate a wide range of body types, testing our products to comfortably support up to 120 kgs per seat under domestic normal use conditions. Whether you're lounging or sleeping, you can trust it to provide comfort and safety.

Can I use my Paddo Sofa Bed as a permanent mattress for every night?

Our Paddo Sofa Bed is designed with layered seat cushion construction to provide the best seating and sleeping comfort. However, we do not recommend it as your primary mattress for nightly use. For a more suitable option, check out our amazing Koala Mattress Range!

Will my Paddo Sofa Bed seating/sleeping comfort change over time?

It's normal for the seating, foam and fillings of your new sofa bed to soften during the first few months of regular use. This is not a fault, but rather a natural part of the breaking-in process, similar to breaking in a new pair of shoes.

If you have a favourite spot where you sit or curl up often, that area might soften more than others, becoming your personalised cozy corner.

As the foam and fillings settle and your sofa gets used to regular lounging and sitting, it's also normal for the fabric to develop some creases or wrinkles. As a part of normal regular care, plump and fluff all cushion inserts (including the seat cushion inserts in the zippered section of the seat frame cover) from time to time to prolong the life of these components and prevent your sofa bed from looking messy.

Can I purchase additional or replacement covers separately?

How many throw cushions come with my Paddo Sofa Bed?

You will received some throw cushons on top of the backrest and armrest cushiions with your Paddo Sofa Bed. Depending on what size you have purchased you will get a different quantity. For single size you get 2 small throw cushions with the 2 armrest cushions and 1 backrest cushion. For all other sizes, you will receive 2 large and 2 small throw cushions along with 2 armrest cushions and 2 backrest cushions.

What size sheets will fit on the Paddo Sofa Bed when it is in bed mode?

Every size of the Paddo Sofa Bed rolls out to a generous 202.5 cm length, with widths changing depending on the model you've picked up. Because of that extra length, your standard fitted sheets might feel a bit snug or pull out of shape. See below for the dimensions of the sleeping surface once your Paddo is fully extended into Bed Mode:

  • Single: 94.5cm x 202.5cm
  • Double: 139.5cm x 202.5cm
  • Queen: 154.5cm x 202.5cm
  • King: 184.5cm x 202.5cm

For the cleanest look and easiest bedding set up, we recommend going for a flat sheet instead of a fitted one. The green metal legs of the sides of the seat frame make it tricky to get that nice, snug tuck you would normally get with a fitted sheet. A flat sheet allows you to tuck the top and bottom securely while letting the sides drape neatly without too much interference.

Do I have to pull out the sofa all the way each time?

Not if you don't want to! The Paddo Sofa Bed has 4 modes: sofa, day bed, mega chaise and bed. Roll out the pull out frame and/or drop the backrests to convert the Paddo to whichever mode suits your mood and needs.

Do I need to fit the covers myself?

The Paddo Sofa Bed is delivered with covers fit onto most parts (including the throw cushions). The only part that you will need to fit the cover onto yourself if the seat frame and cushion after you have connected the seat cushion onto the frame.
