    Nothing complicated about great sleep

    A decade of much-loved snoozing

Ten years after the original Koala mattress launched, it’s still our most popular, best-reviewed and most awarded mattress.

Don’t lose sleep over mattress specs

5cm of Kloudcell® and three support zones sort out softness and support, so you don’t have to overthink the details.

    See you in the morning

Zero Disturbance® helps keep movement from travelling across the bed, so one person can toss and turn without making it a group activity.

A quick spin and back to bed

The removable TENCEL™ blend cover goes straight in the wash and helps keep things fresher between lie-ins.

Kloudcell® is our signature comfort foam

The comfort behind every Koala mattress – Kloudcell®

    Soft and supportive

Kloudcell® foam gently cushions pressure points while staying supportive under broader areas like your back and hips, helping keep your body comfortable and aligned across different sleep positions. Designed to ease pressure at the shoulders, hips and knees without the sag or sink often associated with traditional memory foam.

    Breathable

Kloudcell® allows air to flow through the mattress thanks to its open foam cell structure, helping excess heat escape so you sleep cooler and stay on top of the bed, not stuck in it like traditional memory foam.

It’s tested to be up to 30× more breathable than the worst-performing competitor foams.

    Instantly responsive

Unlike slow-response memory foam, this fast-responding foam reacts instantly when you move, making it easier to change positions with less disturbance. It absorbs motion at the comfort layer, forming the foundation of our Zero Disturbance® motion reduction.

    Built to last

Kloudcell® is made with durable, high-density foam designed for lasting comfort over years of use, delivering consistent comfort night after night for the life of your mattress.

If you don't love it, we've got you covered

    Take it home, risk-free

    • Try it for 120-days

Enjoy a 120 day trial at home to see if it’s the right fit for you and your space.

      Amazing!!!

We have used various expensive mattresses previously and thought we’d give Koala a try. We were absolutely amazed at the comfort and unperturbed sleep we get. Will stick with Koala from here on.

      Extremely comfortable

After years of purchasing expensive mattresses only to have them turn lumpy and uncomfortable the Koala mattress was a welcome change. Its extremely comfortable and has helped with my back pain and two years on there is not a lump in sight. It still feels brand new.

      Best Mattress ever!

Love our koala king size mattress!! It is hands down the best $$ we have spent on us. My husband doesn’t complain from his shoulders or back anymore and hardly has to adjust at night, turning constantly to be comfortable. We both get a great nights sleep. 👍🏻

FAQs about the Koala OG Mattress

    What is Kloudcell®?

Kloudcell® is Koala's own proprietary high density polyurethane foam, which offers superior support, breathability, responsiveness and durability.

    What is TENCEL™ lyocell fibre?

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are made from certified or controlled wood sources and are made with at least 50% less carbon emissions and water consumption*. The result is a fabric that's naturally soft and smooth to the touch that supports a natural dry feeling through moisture control.

*Compared to generic (unbranded) lyocell and modal. The results were calculated according to LCA standards (ISO 14040/44) and are made available via the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (MSI) (Version 3.8) by Cascale (formerly the Sustainable Apparel Coalition).

    Can I wash the cover?

The outer cover is washable. Before washing, open the zipper and remove the cover from the mattress core. Close the zipper and wash in water below 30°C on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Wash with similar colours to prevent colour transfer. After washing, reshape the cover and line dry in the shade. Once completely dry, fit the cover back over the mattress core.

Do not wash the mattress foam's protective cover or the mattress foam itself. To keep your mattress clean and in good condition for a long time, we recommend using a sheet. Wash the sheet regularly.

What type of bed frame do you recommend?

As long as your bed base has adequate support and ventilation, it'll work with the Koala Mattress. If it's a slat base, the slats should be no more than 7.5cm apart. While posture slats can be used, they can make the mattress feel considerably softer than it actually is, so for the best comfort we recommend that they are straight (flat) slats.

We don't recommend either using the mattress straight on the floor without ventilation underneath as this can lead to moisture build up, or on an adjustable bed as bending or folding the mattress might cause long-term damage to the core or supportive layers.

If you need to buy a new base you can check out our bed bases. They're beautiful, strong and easy to assemble!
