How to care for your new Getaway Armchair

Regular Care (Weekly)

  • Vacuum regularly using low suction
  • Protect from direct sunlight
  • After use, you can floof the cushions to bring them back to shape

Cleaning

  • Remove any spills immediately by gently blotting any liquid stands with a clean cloth.
  • Scoop any sauces up before blotting the remaining sauces.
  • Use a mild detergent to gently remove any loose soilage.
  • Do not scrub with a stiff brush.
  • Use a clean cloth to blot out any excess liquid.
  • Avoid over wetting as this may result in a water mark.

Caution: Pretest the cleaning method on a hidden area of the sofa. If change in colour, or transfer do not continue.

Pilling

  • Pilling can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should
    not be considered a fault.
  • Fibre pills can be removed with a battery operated pilling tool, available from most haberdashery stores.

Timber

  • Wipe down with a clean damp cloth
  • Protect from direct sunlight

Cleaning

  • Treat spills as soon as possible, wipe down with clean dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cloths, concentrated detergents, silicon based wood polishes.

Good to Know

  • Timber is a natural product and there will be variation in grain, colour and features such as knots.
  • Over time the colour of timber will naturally change.

Free metro delivery on any order with a mattress. Regional deliveries are charged per item.

Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Metro customers can also select premium delivery that includes assembly and rubbish removal on select items at an additional cost.

      Squeaky but comfortable

      I do love this seat. Super comfy and large.

      Like all other Koala products I have (Sofa bed and Bed frame) they end up squeaking a lot when you move on them which is disappointing, but otherwise this is a lovely seat with drawer.

      Brilliant little armchair

      I really enjoy this armchair. It’s a great 1.5 sitting size (or 2 if you really want to cuddle up and remove one of the side cushions! I appreciate the ability to put it together yourself without tools needed. All the pieces were there and the stuffing in the cushions is pretty decent. I probably took less than an hour to unpack each component and then put it all together.

      You might want to put some anti slip matting between the base cushion and the bottom frame, because the cushion does slip a bit. The back cushion could also do with a bit more lumbar padding rather than being a flat design. The drawer underneath is also very handy but it’s not on rails. Rather it just fits under the chair and has a set of wheels to run on. I see why they designed it, but it’s a tiny bit budget. However the build of the drawer itself is very beautiful and nicely finished, so I appreciate the effort in that.

      Don’t be tempted to rest your backside on the arms like you would other sofas, because they are just inserts and not part of the solid frame.

      Overall really nice armchair. It’s got a bit more too it and is the envy of many friends of mine who just love to sink into it with a cup of something and a book!

    How long does it take to use the seat cushion?

    Although you can use the product almost straight away, we recommend that you give the seat a few hours to decompress before use. It can take a few days for the product to fully expand to the proper size and recover to its correct comfort level.

    Can you remove the entire sofa cover or just the cushion covers?

    Covers should not be removed for cleaning. Please follow the care instructions in the upkeep of the sofa and you will be able to maintain the new condition of your fabric sofa for many years to come. If you have any questions about the upkeep of your piece, don’t hesitate to get in touch and our team will be happy to help.

    How do I maintain my cushions?

    We have engineered life laid back comfort into Getaway for maximum slouchability. And, unlike many other places that sell "comfort" , Getaway gets-away from needing any animal feathers in the cushions like duck or geese. After a period of use, a quick floof up and dressing of the cushion will have the sofa looking great.
