How to care for your new Reef Rug

Always use a rug protector, to be placed under the entire rug (trimmed to size) to protect your floor and rug.

Regular care

Regular airing and vacuuming the rug is recommended vacuum rug regularly at least once or twice a week depending on foot traffic, to avoid dirt getting deep into the fibres

Rotate the rug regularly

Occasionally loose yarn ends will arise above the pile, the rug is hand woven, not a manufacturing fault. The loose yarns can be easily pushed through or carefully trimmed if needed.

  • Do not wet or wash or steam clean.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals/bleach as they may damage or fade the rug colour.
  • Keep away from fire and direct heat sources.
  • Must be completely dry before storing away to prevent mould/mildew.
  • Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight.
  • Use a soft bristle brush to remove any hidden dirt on fringed ends.

Spot clean stains

Attend to the stains immediately. Do not rub or use paper towels to absorb. Scrap off any solids with a knife or spoon carefully.

Slight variations in size, appearance and colour may occur as the rug is handwoven and made from natural un-dyed yarn.

Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Metro customers can also select premium delivery that includes assembly and rubbish removal on select items at an additional cost.

      Great rug

      Great rug with a soft rugged feel. we have it placed on an outdoor covered area which is suitable for this rug, it might not be suitable for indoors where you want a soft underfoot feel

      unfortunately the dog peed on it the first day but i guess i'll take it as a good luck charm

    How often should I get my rug cleaned?

    Wool rugs require a professional clean every 1-3yrs, Frequency depends on the level of activity and how often are stains removed, properly vacuumed.

    Jute and Jute blended rugs —vacuum regularly or dust when required. These rugs should not be wet cleaned.

    The tufted colours are made using recycled plastic bottles, so for every rug made, it means less waste going into landfill. These rugs are easy to care for and extremely versatile.

    Can I put my rug under the furniture?

    Yes, however due to the rugs being handmade, care must be taken to rotate the rug occasionally. Avoid placing a chair with castor wheels e.g. an office chair, as it can get caught in the weave and damage the rug.
