These are all signs that you need to level up your mattress game and, like Goldilocks, itâs something you wanna get just right. (Good call, Goldi.)What mattress is best for your back?
Even without the pain, your back will still thank you if you sleep on a nice, well-designed mattress. With that in mind, letâs take a look at the features Justin recommends when tracking down a sturdy, back-friendly bed. đ Comfort. Well, obviously, we hear you say to this one. But your quality of sleep can affect just about every part of your life, which is why comfort is a significant factor in choosing the right bed. âA mattress should be comfortable enough to want to fall asleep in and to get you a good nightâs sleep,â says Justin. Roger that. đ Firmness. Is a firmer mattress better for your back? Well, only sometimes. âThe rule of thumb is to start with medium firmness,â says Justin. âIt shouldnât be extremely firm, but you also donât want a mattress thatâs too soft and offers no support.â đ Breathability. We humans can sweat a lot, even when we sleep, so make sure your bed is up to the task. âA mattress should be breathable to help you keep nice and dry throughout the night,â says Justin. đ Zoned support. âOur bodies have zones where they distribute weight differently,â Justin explains. âSome are around our heads, and others are significant points like our backs, shoulders, hips, pelvises and knees.â Want a mattress that supports each zone independently? We happen to know a few.
A good mattress should offer zoned support, the right amount of firmness and breathability
