How the Koala Sofa Bed was designed

Koala is most known for selling Australia’s highest rated mattress so it’s no wonder we decided to make the comfiest sofa bed you can find in Australia.

Why we decided to make a Sofa Bed

The entire business reads every piece of feedback through one of our Slack channels which allows us to see what we can improve, what we do right, and what we could make. One common request has been to make a Sofa Bed. Why? Because too often our customers have friends, and family sleep over when there is not necessarily a spare bedroom available.

You asked so we listened. We made it, and we know you’ll love it!

How big is the Koala Sofa Bed?

In under 4 seconds, you can open up the Sofa Bed into a queen sized bed by pulling on the 7.5cm handle behind the backrest. It’s ultra-stylish design means you have a comfy seating, and sleeping option available at your fingertips.

What is the Koala Sofa Bed made of?

Just like the rest of our products we want our customers to have the most convenient, and comfy product available. There’s no springs, no squeaks, no hassles, so no worries before going to bed.

The entire Sofa Bed requires no tools, and can easily be assembled in a few short minutes.

The bottom has a wooden baseboard that is made of 100% FSC certified 15mm poplar plywood that has been coated for protection.

Next is 14 Polyamide pieces to connect the pieces, and keep it in place.

Finally, the Sofa Bed is made with Certi-PUR-US Certified Polyurethane foam support layer with a polyurethane comfort layer that has been wrapped in the dacron layer with 88% Polyester 12% Nylon covers for a soft touch.

Is the Koala Sofa chemical-free?

The Koala Sofa has been Certi-PUR-US Certified which means it has been laboratory tested by a third party to confirm it is made without ozone depleters, PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants, mercury, lead and heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and has Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).
